Mr Petr Hanek is a leading consultant surgeon with a special interest in colorectal surgery and laparascopic (keyhole) procedures. Mr Hanek has over 25 years of experience and training in a wide range of procedures including treatment of bowel/rectal cancer, diagnostic laparoscopy, lap. cholecystectomy, lap. appendectomy, inguinal hernia repair, abdominal wall hernias, anal fissure and anal fistula management, and treatment of pelvic pain syndrome and benign colorectal diseases.

Having graduated from Charles University, Prague in 1990, Mr Hanek moved to the UK 15 years ago  with 12 years of experience behind him in University Hospital in Prague where he had been in a position of leading bowel cancer surgeon. He was later appointed Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He now practises privately at BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital and Spire Alexandra Hospital, and can conduct appointments in English, Slovakian, Czech or Russian.
